County Steps Up With $100,000 - 12/19/06

Hello Valley Floor Preservationists, big news this week with Judge Greenacre’s ruling on another motion in our favor. SMVC cannot use a recent $26.3 million sale in Mountain Village as a comparable. We should have the Town’s Press Release on this site soon.

Town Council will be holding a special meeting this Tuesday, January 23rd. A Valley Floor discussion is on the agenda at 12:10pm. We expect Council to give us some specific answers to lingering donor questions such as details on the deposit of funds with the court and the conservation easement. Please show up if you can. The meeting will be on KOTO.

It is looking like the Walker-Silverman Family will be matching their total $10,000 Wishing Well Match. Way to go! Munchie Haddad will be sponsoring this week and then we have a $20,000 and a $30,000 week coming up. Keep the acquisition funds rolling in folks!

We are close to confirming a date for the Valley Floor Art Show in February. If you would still like to donate Valley Floor inspired art for the show please call Karen Wilcox at 728-4697. We are working with the Telluride Institute on plans for a fundraising event for dogs in February as well. Munchie Haddad will be kicking off the dog contributions this week at the Wishing Well.

Those of you who have contributed $500 or more should be receiving an Escrow Agreement to sign in the mail this week. If not and you choose to make a restricted donation, allowing us to return your funds if for some reason the acquisition does not go through, please contact us.

Remember – HOME STRETCH, time to MAKE IT HAPPEN!
