THIS IS IT! LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN!

This week we received some helpful news.

Judge Greenacre came in with a long-awaited ruling on the timing issue Wednesday afternoon. He ruled that the funds in satisfaction of the $50MM jury award must be deposited with the Registry of the Court no later than May 21. The landowner had briefed the Court, requesting 44 days, which had us on track for the March 15 private fundraising deadline. The Town had requested no fewer than 90 days in its briefing. The May 21 date certain grants the 90 days from the date of trial conclusion.

With the judge's ruling in hand, we are now able to determine a final time frame for both private fundraising and municipal bond issuance to follow.
VFPP is pleased at the news of the timing ruling! With current momentum at an unprecedented high, we want to complete private fundraising no later than March 30, 2007. As of this morning, $18.1MM has been committed. With the extension in time, and the increase in associated expenses, less municipal funds will be available for acquisition. Our revised fundraising goal has, therefore, increased from $24MM to $24.5MM with the conclusion of private fundraising targeted for March 30, 2007.

14 DAYS TO GO
$6.4MM TO RAISE

The efforts of the extended Telluride community to bring Valley Floor acquisition to a successful conclusion have never been more focused. Both the Wild Night for Wild Things event and the Valley Floor Shopping Day were great successes, bringing in more than $85,000. Donors are visiting the office to stretch their pledges. The phones are ringing. The mailbox is full. Private sector response to our urgent fundraising outreach has been very generous! Thank you, again, for both your personal financial participation and for your important help in outreaching to others to save the Valley Floor as public open space. We are almost there!

This is it! It’s time to stretch your contributions and bring in your friends.
Please send in your funds immediately. Two more weeks! Let’s make it happen!
